Rooftop Tent Camping Tips
Who said your next adventure had to be in a tent or a glorified RV? You can have a wonderful camping experience by camping on our vehicle's roof in deep Africa. Rooftop camping has become increasingly popular among adventurers who want somewhere to sleep without the expense of an RV and something different than a traditional tent. There are, however, some things you should know before going rooftop camping. You can learn more with the following rooftop tent camping tips.
Rooftop Camping Best Practices
First and foremost, you need a high-quality rooftop tent that fits your requirements properly. Our tents are equipped with safety features to ensure you or our equipment and vehicle isn't damaged and you remain safe while resting.
Another important rooftop tent camping tip is to not close the tent when it's wet, if possible. Trapping moisture can create mold and mildew, and you'll need to clean the mold and mildew before sleeping in the tent;
Chances are you don't want to sleep with your shoes on or have them in your bed with you. Tie a bag to the ladder you use to get in your rooftop tent and place your shoes there, alternatively, slip your shoes in between the space between the tent and roof of the car if your roof rack allows it. This is especially helpful after a long day of adventure and hiking where your shoes may have a healthy coating of mud on them (and nobody wants a muddy bed).
We also always ensure that we park on a level surface.
